Frugal Friday

I recently came to the realization that because of their high cost there are alot of equine related endeavors I'm not going to be able to pursue. Realizing this caused to pause evaluate all things horse. What I came to realize is, it's being with them that matters the most to me. I'm just as happy grooming as I am riding. I'm just as happy to watch them in the field as I am to watch time in the show ring. I'm beyond appreciative that I have them back in my life after such a long absence and just being with them is enough.

Today's photo is of the kind eye of my BO's horse, Pepper.

  1. You are a true horseperson! What you might enjoy reading if not putting into practice is Basic Training for a Safe Trail Horse. It is a small paperback available at Amazon. It presents the reader with a practical way to relate to a horse and thereby easily communicate in ways it can understand. That leads to teaching a horse by using not only body-movements but words. For examples go to You Tube and search "granny with a trail horse."

  2. AWWWWWW!!! It would be nice if we could actually ride them again. Surely that isn't asking too much --I'm about to have a winter blues melt down.
