ShipLap and Fixer Upper

Gerry and I are fans of the HGTV show Fixer Upper. We love their redesigns and I'm crazy about Joanna's interior design. So, when it came time to redo our foyer we went shiplap. (A technique that Joanna and Chip used a whole lot to great affect in their first season of shows.) In addition, I repainted my ceiling an even darker navy blue (a ceiling color I picked up after a trip to New Orleans in the the '90's.)

The green stuff in the photo is called Frog Tape and is the the best painting tape I've found (it didn't pull any paint off when I removed it!!!)

All-in-all the project went so well we are now "shiplapping" some walls and even a ceiling in our dining and living room- pictures to come for sure!)
